For SIHH 2018, Roger Dubuis’s big announcement was its new partnership with Italian supercar maker, Lamborghini. It’s been a few years now since the Genevan watchmaker first sank its teeth in the automotive world with a special collection created for the Pirelli tyre company. Following that, Roger Dubuis revealed its sponsorship of the FFF Racing Team, and now, a fully fledged official partnership with Lamborghini. Indeed it could be said that few alliances are as synergistic as this one. Both brands are distinguished by avant-garde design and cutting-edge technology.

The Excalibur Aventador S succinctly demonstrates the camaraderie between the two. This watch comes with a fully open-worked dial and movement showing off the unique twin balance wheel movement. Each balance wheel is set at a 45-degree incline and positioned at 90 degrees of each other, resembling the V-shaped engine of the Aventador S. More automotive design codes can be found in the power reserve display as well as the bold colourways so intrinsic to the Lamborghini identity.

Inspired by the automotive industry, in particular, Formula One racing, where tyres are changed in an average of three seconds, this watch also allows its wearer to quickly and easily switch between straps. There is a patented spring-loaded clasp between the lugs that releases the strap on demand, offering you the opportunity to customise your watch whenever and wherever you wish.
