Les Collectionneurs is a travelling selection of vintage pocket and wristwatches handpicked by Vacheron Constantin through various sources all around the world. These watches are now available for viewings and sale at the Vacheron Constantin Ion Orchard boutique for a limited time only.
Comprising 18 different timepieces, each one carefully scrutinised and fully serviced or restored to pristine condition, the collection includes pocket watches made between 1922 and 1949, as well as wristwatches made between 1927 and 1993. These pieces are either watches that Vacheron Constantin owned and kept in its vast Geneva archives, buy-backs from VIP customers, or acquired through luxury watch auctions staged by Christie’s, Sotheby’s and Phillips Auctioneers.
According to style and heritage director of Vacheron Constantin, Christian Selmoni, Les Collectionneurs was officially launched as a response to the increasing interest in vintage timepieces. Seeing how its 263-year-long history could truly be put to good use, Vacheron Constantin began offering perfectly restored vintage models to its VIPs as early as seven years ago. Never before could anyone purchase a vintage luxury watch in such a trusted and comfortable environment as the brand’s official boutiques.
Buying vintage usually means dealing with slick pre-owned watch salesmen and never knowing if the watch you’ve gotten is a steal, a deal or lemon. There are way too many caveats in the pre-owned game. With Les Collectionneurs, though, you’re guaranteed the watches are 100 per cent authentic and in perfect working condition.
Vacheron Constantin has issued certificates of authenticity with every Les Collectionneurs watch. Not only that, the manufacture offers a two-year warranty as well–now this is something you certainly won’t find anywhere else. Prices range from $18,000 to $600,000.
Every piece in the collection has its unique allure but here are the four top picks short listed by Selmoni.
An 18K yellow gold gentleman’s wristwatch circa 1952. Yours for $24,800.
A platinum open-faced pocket watch circa 1931 priced at $24,800.
An 18K yellow gold chronograph minute repeater open-faced pocket watch circa 1925 going for $124,100.
An 18K yellow gold minute repeater wristwatch ref. 4261 circa 1951 with an impressive but fitting price tag, $527,700.
All remaining pieces can be seen at the Vacheron Constantin boutique located at #02-07 Ion Orchard (unless they’ve already been snapped up). To view, call +65 6509 8800 or email email@example.com for a private appointment.
