J.W. Anderson And Uniqlo's Next Collaboration Is All About The British Seaside

Brighton, to be exact.

One of the few high-street meets high-end collaborations that actually made people happy (good clothes, reasonable prices, high demand but you could still find pieces in store), J.W. Anderson and Uniqlo are returning for spring/summer with a line that looks more-than-a-bit inspired by the English seaside.

Like Torquay, but... trendier.

Anderson, who is most famous for his oversized silhouettes, mixed prints and really good knitwear, has taken a light and breezy approach to the upcoming collab, with pinstripe granddad shirts, loose-fitting chinos and nautical stripes all appearing in promo shots taken on Brighton beach.

Commenting on his new collection, Anderson said: "In the 2nd collection of the collaboration, I’m looking for this idea of ‘British Summer,’ the idea of being on Brighton beach. Something which is very lightweight, very airy, with a lot of linen, and cotton that has a 1950’s subcultural movement. With a little bit of ease and something which is quintessential."

It all sounds very nice, Jonathan, but just wait until August when 10,000,000,000 humans sweat and heave on the scorched pebbles of shadeless Brighton, seeking momentary respite in the dull mud waves, seagulls laughing mercilessly above and laughing at man's summer stupidity while stealing his chips.

The clothes look great, though! Really great.

Expect an official launch online from 19 April. While physical Uniqlo stores will start stocking the collection on 20 April.
