Stella McCartney Stars Cillian Murphy in Her Latest Menswear Collection Film
The fashion film is mysterious and hauntingly beautiful.

Stella McCartney’s campaign films are always well-thought-out, slightly disturbing (not a complaint!), yet beautifully executed. For #StellaMenswear this Autumn Winter 2017, Stella taps the piercing-blue-eyed Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders, Dr. Jonathan Crane/Scarecrow in The Dark Knight) to play the lead in the short film. Directed by Stella’s good friend Sean Ellis (Cashback, Anthropoid), Black Party is the name of the short film that they’ve come up with. Stella McCartney tells Business of Fashion that, “There’s a beautiful precision in Sean’s work. I don’t like that much precision. Most things I do, I really rebel against that. But with Sean and the menswear, it just felt right to respect the level of quality in the manufacturing.” Here’s the other thing, Stella’s dad, Paul McCartney is the man behind the haunting music. Stella tells her dad, “I want weird shit, which you can do, Mr Sgt. Pepper.” And that was what we got–nicely executed.
Stella McCartney Autumn Winter 2017 for men will be available soon at Club 21 Four Seasons Singapore and Club 21 Pavilion Kuala Lumpur.
