See these artists (and best mates) run a riot in the new Fendi store in ION Orchard sporting their favourite pieces from the spring collection

What happens in a Fendi change room, doesn’t stay in a Fendi change room.

“Werk it!” yells Benjamin Kheng to his band mate Jon Chua.
“This is me werking it,” replies Chua, standing in the corner, modeling a Fendi jacket whilst holding up a postcard with an illustration of flowers.
“Yasss!” encourages a laughing Nathan Hartono. “Werk!”

We’ve rounded up the boys from Singapore band The Sam Willows along with their ever-present mischievous sidekick Nathan Hartono (PSA: Hartono is about to release a new single) for a candid photo shoot in the female change room of the Fendi boutique in ION Orchard. Why the female change room? Actors Fann Wong and Zoe Tay are in the men’s, air kissing and clinking champers. But we’re all good — the women’s is way bigger than the men’s change room anyway (more space for all their bags?) — and Kheng is making full use of it: “Shoot me on that chair!”

It’s the opening night of Fendi’s new ION boutique — the first store on Orchard Road to showcase the full men’s universe collection, including ready-to-wear, shoes, leather goods and accessories — and everyone who is anyone in Singapore is here. Think: Actors Jeanette Aw and Desmond Tan to singer Tabitha Nauser, a glowing (and very pregnant) Yoyo Cao, and model Fiona Fussi. And located just outside the store? The Fendi Kiosk — a travelling pop-up inspired by the vintage newsstands found in the piazzas scattered around Rome — showcasing the latest spring 2018 ready-to-wear and accessories with illustrations of everyday items by artist Sue Tilley.

There’s a coffee cup on a leather tote bag. A bunch of bananas on a pullover. Martini glass motifs printed over a blouson. Tilley’s illustrations have been slathered across the maison’s pieces for a cheeky irreverent take on spring fashion. But as a special treat, and a smart tie-in with the kiosk pop-up, Tilley’s illustrations of these everyday objects have also been printed onto postcards as souvenirs for the opening. Brilliant.

Light bulb moment: Why don’t we get Hartono, Kheng and Chua to recommend their favourite Fendi pieces based on different postcards? Heck yes. So that’s exactly what we did.

Below, the gents wear Fendi pieces to match their postcard. Clearly, very serious business.
