It’s never the destination, always the journey, they say. You might want to reconsider that with District Race.
Claimed to be the first urban exploration race on the planet, District Race will make its inaugural launch on our sunny island. Players get to navigate the Grid or the five districts—Gardens by the Bay, Chinatown, Downtown, Uptown and Kallang—in a two-hour exploratory race, hitting checkpoints and facing challenges all done via the District Race app.
Each district has 13 checkpoints, 3 challenges and 1 bonus challenge for you to clear; the more you overcome, the more points you’ll rack up. Prizes and glory await the winners so you’ll need your wits, careful planning and stamina if you want to stay ahead in the game.
Interested parties can register at https://districtrace.com/events/singapore. The last day for registration is the 25th of February or if all entries are filled.
Bring your fully-charged smartphone, get ready to work up a sweat and be sure to take the scenic route.
The first District Race will occur at The Meadow, Gardens by the Bay on 3rd March, at 7am. Registration goes for SGD80 and participants will receive a District Race Kit consisting of a t-shirt, iron-on patch, a canister and a medal upon completion.
