For our sophomore Big Food & Drinks Book, we explore pockets of many unknown variables that our sparked our fascination with food. First, we visit the Baekyangsa Temple in South Korea, where Buddhist nun Jeong Kwan—who was featured in Netflix’s Chef’s Table—resides, to learn more beneath the cinematography.

Returning to the motherland, we spoke to hawkers and chefs in Singapore to understand the issues that would ring the death knell for them. Lastly, we've uncovered lesser-known cultural dishes (definitely not pho) and profiled some of the biggest names in the global food and drinks industry like Keisuke Takeda and John Kunkel.

Read these and more gastronomic adventures in Esquire Singapore's The Big Food & Drinks Book 2017. Out now in digital and print.
