We’re constantly setting off to different destinations in search of the unfamiliar, but have you stopped to consider how well you know your own country? Across the three following weekends, the Singapore Heritage Festival will not just get you to experience heritage anew, it will make you proud to call this little island home. If you’re having flashbacks to school excursions, don't. This year marks its 15th edition, so rest assured they know what to do to keep it interesting. Spanning over 120 programmes from film screening to indie music to food tours, you are easily spoilt for choice.

Weekend One: Jurong
Championing the west side, what’s not to be missed among the activities is the recreated drive-in cinema reminiscent of the area in the ‘70s.

Weekend Two: Jalan Besar, Chinatown
Join in the street party, shop at a creative market and immerse in the untold stories behind the colourful shophouse facades.

Weekend Three: Bras Basah, Toa Payoh
Celebrate culture and history through theatre, a classic vintage car boot flea, and one big LED carnival.
