For Fall 2017, Ralph Lauren presented his collection at his private home in Bedford, New York – and in specifics, at his garage. There was much to look at: the clothes and the models, full of plaids and houndsteeth, herringbones and checks. But the spectacular backdrop of the designer’s vintage car collection of more than 70 cars (estimated by Forbes to be worth at least USD300 million) was a whole other thing.

“People always wanted to come and see the garage and I thought it was an interesting time to do something different, and I think mixing the cars and the art of the cars and fashion of the clothes is exciting. They are not meant to be matched together. They are meant to be an extension of something you live with all your life,” Lauren commented.

The designer’s collection of cars includes the (Batmobile) 1930 Mercedes Benz SSK “Count Trossi”, 1960 Ferrari 250GT Short Wheelbase Berlinetta, 1965 Aston Martin DB5 Volante Drop Head Coupe (Sean Connery as James Bond would be proud), 1937 Bugatti Type 57SC Drop Head Coupe, 1958 Ferrari 250 Testa Rossa Spyder, just to name a few.
