Melissa Wang

Sure, it takes determination to stay in shape but it takes guts to enter in a bikini competition

Melissa Wang is pretty fit for most of her life. She swam competitively and ice-skated in her youth, became a certified lifeguard as well as a lifesaving instructor and even cheerled (cheerleadered?) in the University of Toronto.

You think she’d be at her optimal physique but when she was introduced to lifting weights and saw the benefits of muscle gain in her lower extremities, she stuck to it. A boost of confidence came along as well after she entered the Musclemania Asia’s Miss Bikini Tall category in 2015. If there were any nervousness, there were none seen when she came out on stage with the rest of the contestants, frozen in smile and pose waiting for the results.

She came in fourth but she won our respect as entering in the first place takes chutzpah.
