The joke: A biologist, a chemist, and a statistician are out hunting. The biologist shoots at a deer and misses five-feet to the left. The chemist takes a shot and misses five-feet to the right. The statistician tells, "We got 'em!"

Three years ago, Jessica Sinclair lived in a bubble. "I stayed in," she says, travelling on a wave of contemplative thought and being animated throughout our conversation, never resting on its trough. "But I had to get out." Its hard for the introvert, but with a new business, IHA Yoga*, she has put forth a brave face to the public. In the history of sterling sales pitches, Sinclair's takes the gold—she had a bad back (cue an X-ray of her back; lo her spine, an errant serpent!) and the doctor gave her two options: surgery or try everything else and see what sticks. Sinclair gave yoga a shot. The first three weeks were torture. "I was dying throughout," she says, "but by the third week, the pain was gone." A caveat though: "I wouldn't say yoga applies to everyone because every body is different. People expect a miracle cure but I say to them, no. It really depends on your own body. You need to be safe and smart about it." What she practises can be found on her Instagram account (@jessica.r.sinclair)—swallow that lump in your throat as you see images and videos of a taut Sinclair pretzel-ed and balanced in unfathomable poses. It might be eye candy to some, but on a whole, it's a testimony of what works for her.
