Watch the Saint Laurent Palladium fashion show—a tribute to the Los Angeles music scene
Hedi Slimane’s 93-look collection is a throwback to glam rock, androgynous style.

Saint Laurent transformed the iconic Hollywood Palladium into a circular catwalk to present its A/W16 collection for men and women in front of an A-list crowd that included names like Lenny Kravitz, Sam Smith, Gary Oldman, Lady Gaga, Demi Moore, among others.
For the men’s collection, Creative Director Hedi Slimane revisited his “signature style pieces and principles” of the late ‘90s when he pioneered the androgynous male look with a razor sharp silhouette at YSL.
Reminiscent of his glam Fall 2005 and psych rock 2013 collection, Slimane made use of materials such as leather, tweed, fur, velvet and mink and dressed a lineup of male models in skinny suits and band leader and tapestry jackets with hand-embroidered details.
At the end of it all, the typically shy Slimane uncharacteristically came out to take a bow, something that is likely to fuel further speculation that this could, in fact, be his last show for the French fashion house.
Could it have been an act to evoke a sense of finality to his time at Saint Laurent? Or maybe it was just a pure coincidence? For now, let’s just put those thoughts aside and focus on a collection we’ll probably remember for years to come.
