Good news Singapore, the trend that’s dominating both retail sales and lifestyle fashion at the moment is one that most of us are already familiar with. Long before athleisure was a thing, Singaporeans have long been at home with sweats, shorts, and sneakers. Joggers? Sorry, Beckham, been there, done that.

We are a nation that prides itself on being extremely…comfortable. And it reflects in the way the majority of us dress. And whilst there is nothing wrong with being comfortable, it’s still a relief that more brands are focusing on their ‘active lifestyle’ wear, as it means a broader range of products to choose from, along with a better fit and more styles available. In some cases, clever urban elements have been incorporated into the design, meaning that you get performance wear that won’t look amiss when you hit the shops over the gym.

Here are a few brands that are adding on to their existing collections with a bigger, more targeted, active-wear collection. So you don’t have to change your look but you can definitely upgrade your style.

UNIQLO

From AIRism to HEATTECH, this Japanese label is brilliant at developing easy, wearable pieces that incorporate innovation with affordability. TIMBERLAND

Timberland extends its apparel offering with its new Urban Lifestyle collection, offering young urbanites a sporty, casual choice with functionality and comfort. Expect a wide range of tees and hoodies, along with jogger pants and coach jackets, in contemporary silhouettes and constructed in comfortable fabrics. Hit up Timberland for their latest collection.

Y-3 SPORT

Yohji Yamamoto and Adidas announced the new Y-3 SPORT line last year. The collection marks a new step for the Japanese designer, who focused on performance wear for athletes in collaboration with longtime brand partner Adidas for this specific line. Drawing on the rich expertise and technological innovation of the sportswear giant, the pieces launched in the first collection managed to meld a designer aesthetic with full athletic functionality. Think of it as fit fashion. More from the collection can be found at Y-3 SPORT.
