Charlie Sheen Wants To Sell You Some Condoms
Charlie Sheen just got appointed as the new face of safe sexual practices.

Real question. Who would go and appoint Charlie Sheen as the new face of safe sexual practices? Lelo, a luxury condom and sex toy manufacturer, committed itself to a campaign with Sheen for its new Hex line of condoms.
To be fair, Lelo is using Sheen as more of a shock-and-awe cautionary tale—condoms and HIV should go hand-in-hand, just like condoms should always be on hand for Sheen. But, when trying to move the conversation about safe sex forward, using such a character is pretty icky. This is, after all, a man with allegations of violence towards women that long predates last year's HIV-positive confession.
According to The Daily Beast, many feminists are pulling their support from Lelo. As Lux Alptraum wrote in her sex newsletter, "Yes, the company that supposedly stands for luxury, quality, and sex positivity decided to associate itself with a violent abuser who has a history of publicly humiliating his past sex partners (among his many other awful traits)."
And, I mean, just: Charlie Sheen. Remember tiger blood? Remember "winning?" You do now.
I'm guessing you probably don't want to remember these things every time you use a condom.
