The first trailer for the new Oasis documentary Supersonic has been released and it looks like it's going to be more than a little emotional.

The film, which is released in cinemas on October 2, was produced Asif Kapadia and James Gay-Rees, the team behind award-winning documentaries Amy and Senna.

Supersonic charts the Gallagher brothers twenty year story from just "two lads on a council estate" to gargantuan fame—with a fair few brawls along the way. It has been described as a "blast of '90s nostalgia," and we've already spotted several bucket hats.

Though Liam and Noel's voiceovers were recorded separately, fans are still hopeful of a reunion which was strongly hinted at by the film's director, Mat Whitecross. Speaking at Festival No.6 last weekend Whitecross said:

"I think they've still got it. They should go out and give it a go. I feel people out there want it so I hope they get it."

Liam was typically measured and humble when commenting on the trailer.
