Man at His Best

Here Are 10 Iconic Movie Scenes That Were Actually Copied From Older Films

Sorry, Lord of the Rings fans.

Young filmmakers today have grown up studying the works of Stanley Kubrick, Quentin Tarantino, George Lucas, and Steven Spielberg. But, like any good artists, these iconic directors grew up studying their own heroes. While it may seem like The Shining, Pulp Fiction, and Raiders of the Lost Ark were all original classics, these movies actually borrowed heavily from generations beforehand.

That scene where Luke and Han (not Chewbacca? WTF?) get their medals at the end of Star Wars? Yeah, that same from the Nazi propaganda film, Triumph of the Will. Strange...

That scene where Sam and Frodo see the gates of Mordor? Yeah, that's from The Wizard of Oz.

That Heeeeere's Johnny scene? Yeah, that actually comes from a silent Swedish horror film, The Phantom Carriage.

Hopefully, this didn't ruin anything for you. Please go enjoy all of your totally not 100 percent original movies.
