Lecia’s new camera is the first they’ve designed for outdoor and underwater use. As well as being as handsome a device as you’d expect from Leica, the X-U packs a 16.5-megapixel sensor, is fully waterproof to 49 feet and is shock and freeze resistant, and dust-sealed.

There’s a 3-inch LCD screen on the back, protected by a hardened cover while the battery and memory card are protected by a double locking system.

Video-wise, it can shoot 1080p and 720p at 30fps in MP4.

For anyone who’s always fancied owning a Leica, but were worried about having to look after it properly – will the robust X-U tempt you?
