How Much Bending And Scratching Can The iPhone 7 Take?
Watch the new phone get tested to its limits.

We've heard all about the new features of the iPhone 7 at this point. But now that it's available to the public, the exciting part of getting a new gadget can finally begin: figuring out how to break it.
In a video on the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel, we watch the phone undergo some serious torture tests, from being bent to scratched with a mineral pick.
Overall, the phone performs pretty well. It withstands bending much better than the iPhone 6, with only the layer of waterproofing material separating from the phone's body when bent with two hands. Scratching with keys or a razor won't damage your phone, but a mineral pick with a six or higher on the Mohs hardness scale will, scratching both the body and the lens of the outer camera.
The Next Web points out that this finding contradicts Apple's promise that the lens cover is made of sapphire, as that material should resist scratching by a level six material. In any case, the tests prove that the new phone is pretty hardy as long as you don't try to actively destroy it.
