Considering the news of Apple's profits loss after a disappointing drop in iPhone sales, the release of the iPhone 7 in September comes at a time when the company appears vulnerable for the first time in years.

That said, 2017 marks the 10th anniversary of the first model, so you know the tech giants will be focused on making the next iPhone the best ever.

Tech-pert John Gruber  revealed on his podcast The Talk Show that one feature we can look forward to is an 'edgeless' screen, with a home button built into the phone's display, like this concept drawing by designer Marek Wiedlich. Gruber commented:

"The entire face will be the display. And the Touch ID sensor will be somehow embedded in the display. The front-facing camera will somehow be embedded in the display. The speaker, everything. All the sensors will somehow be behind the display.“

The 'all-glass' iPhone in 2017 would likely meaning skipping the having an iPhone 7s model and focusing on the anniversary edition. By then, we might have even got over them phasing out the headphone jack.
