Google Is Going To Let You Customise Your Own Smartphone
Hate having a camera? With Google's Project Ara, you can soon remove it.

While everyone's talking about Google's new self-driving car, many have forgotten about all the other cool products they are working on.
Project Ara is Google's step into customisable phones. And when we say customisable, we don't mean changing your phone's case or having a choice between a rose or gold coloured tint on the back. We're talking adding and taking away actual parts of the phone. You could swap the camera for speakers, insert flashlights and fitness trackers.
The team at Project Ara are busy creating new modules before launch. If you have any smart ideas you can sign up to help develop them for their new phone.
Project Ara has been in the Google labs since 2014 and should be ready by the end of the year. Expect the new phone to be available to buy in 2017.
