You could stay home and watch the wall but there are better things to do outside.

1 | Savour 2016
Nation of foodies, this should already be on your radar. But if it isn’t, know that it kicks off today and lasts till Sunday. The first of three planned festivals, Savour Gourmet is in its more recognisable form with food from participating restaurants hawking their wares and the Gourmet Market to buy ingredients and dream about being a chef from. We’re avid fans of the cheese and seafood sections. Two others, Savour Wines and Savour Christmas are scheduled for September and November respectively. Bonus, you don’t need separate tags to enter the Savour grounds as all are welcome. Just have the cash ready for the SGD6 or SGD12 nosh being sold. Don’t forget to vote for the next culinary star using the voting cards you’ll be issued.
Savour 2016 is at Bayfront Avenue, next to Marina Bay Sands Exhibition Centre.
2 | Hard Rock Burgers
Get your burger fix with Hard Rock Café tomorrow as they kick off their 25th year celebrations with the World Burger Tour. Accompanied by, naturally, Harley Davidson bikers, the burger truck will drive off from Singapore, visiting Malacca, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Bangkok and Pattaya before coming back home to Sentosa on May 22. It’s all part of the Asian leg of the tour, involving haf-pound Angus burgers. There’s even a Satay burger to try, that’s the Local Legendary Burger for this city. But if that’s not your thing, stick to the Noo Yawk style Big Little Italy Burger with its Mozzarella, pepperoni and pizza sauce or the Giardiniera Deli Burger repping Chicago with roast beef, rovolone cheese, giardiniera peppers and Sriracha mayo. Tomorrow’s just the kick-off with its street party from 4pm, but the menu at the Cafes will run till 30 June.
The Burger Send-Off starts at 4pm, May 13 at Hard Rock Café Singapore, Cuscaden Road.
3 | Mess Hall Dinner Party at the Armoury Gastrobar
Miss your NS days yet? Pfft, who are you kidding? But if you want a really romanticised experience of mess hall dining, Massive Collective (the people behind Bang Bang, Match and so on) has got something for you at the Armoury Gastrobar. Expect free-flow spiked punch bowls, alcoholic slushies and burgers set to music and, presumably, lots of dancing. Nothing at all like the military experience you're familiar with but hey, all in good fun vibes. If that sounds like something that’ll rock your boat, drop by on May 14 from 7pm. Priced at just SGD89++ at the door, it’s the start of many more to come in the future.
Email email@example.com for reservations. The Armoury Gastrobar is located at South Beach Quarter, 36 Beach Road.
