Weekend Agenda: Eat, Drink, And Dribble A Ball
3 things to get up to this May Day weekend.
BY EDITORS | Apr 28, 2016 | Food & Drink
1 | Chef's Table at Dolce Vita
There's nothing like the soothing sounds of stainless steel pans being laid down over a stove on high heat, as meats and condiments sizzle, producing wave after wave of delectable smells that slowly engulf the entire room. Available every Friday evening, Dolce Vita's Chef's Table dining experiences invite guests to sit around its show kitchen for a multi-sensory culinary feast and interact with Chef de Cuisine, Omar Bernadi, while he whips up a six-course menu right before their eyes. Each course is paired with the exquisite wines from an award-winning wine list, carefully curated by the hotel’s sommelier and will highlight the seasonal ingredient of the month (Chef Omar has chosen white asparagus for the month of May).
Dolce Vita's Chef's Table accommodates up to six guests, and is priced at SGD150 per person, inclusive of wine pairing. Dolce Vita is located on level 5, Mandarin Oriental, Singapore, 5 Raffles Avenue, Marina Square.
2 | Shop and sip craft spirits at Pedder on Scotts
How many times have you had the urge to drink some whisky or rum while walking around a shopping mall with your missus? Thousands? Probably millions. Well, the folks at Pedder on Scotts have unveiled a sleek pop-up bar to display and sell an expertly curated selection of craft spirits (gins, rums, vodkas, bourbons, piscos and artisanal mezcales) by Proof & Company, as well as cocktail tools and books. Proof & Company’s ambassadors will also host intimate tasting sessions for guests on select weekends. This weekend, taste the rum vintages from Diplomático, which have been distilled from sugarcane honey and molasses to create layered flavors.
Diplomático Reserva Exculsiva Rum tastings will take place on April 30 and May 1, from 3PM-6PM.
3 | Beat Jermaine Pennant at PUMA Tricks Challenge
Enough trash talk with your football buds already. It's time to pit your skills against a pro: former Liverpool footballer, Jermaine Pennant. In conjunction with the official launch of the latest dual coloured Tricks boots this weekend, PUMA is holding a Tricks Challenge. Participants will have to dribble a ball through a series of boundary poles as fast as possible. The person with the fastest time will win a pair of autographed PUMA Tricks boots by Thierry Henry, Adam Lallana or Cesc Fabregas.
The PUMA Tricks Challenge will take place at Weston Corp, Kallang Wave Mall.
