Penfolds' Limited Edition Decanter Is A Centrepiece Of Conversation, Oh And The Wine Too

It’s a testament to following your gut, despite the orders of your employers. And the negative judgment of eminent wine critics who were more buoyed by the standards of the time.
Not heeding either betters, Max Schubert’s persistence in producing the Grange in secret back in 1959 proved fruitful in later years. It’s thanks to his fortitude that we now have access to the delicious Penfolds wine.
To mark the 2012 release in all its structured beauty, the winery has teamed up with Saint-Louis in a first-ever partnership. That’s the oldest glassmaker in Europe known for exquisite crystal objects.
Out of the collaboration come only five service vessels meant to facilitate the pouring of the 2012 Grange in Imperial measure.
For the rest of us, the other pairing of crystal and wine is in a more accessible form that gently pivots on its point as it aerates its contents, making for a hypnotising visual feast of dancing burgundy and light.
Won’t look too shabby taking pride of place at the home bar.
The Penfolds Grange 750ml and Penfolds Aevum Limited Edition Crystal Decanter are available as a set that retails for SGD2,242.
