Cocktails: FRESH! Monkey See, Monkey Do
Taste no evil
BY Lestari Hairul | Dec 1, 2015 | Food & Drink
Three monkeys sitting in a row, but you’ll soon be adding a fourth with this smooth, refreshing drink. A hint of salty green tea blows away much of banana’s tendency to cloy in a smoothie, while lime juice lifts the tipple, even as the scotch lands a solid punch on the background and your noggin (after a good few).
Start the night with this, as you belt out tunes from the ’90s during one of FRESH! bar’s monthly karaoke nights. Quieter evenings are a good way to get acquainted with the drinks from their “jotter book” menu; they’re inventive and oh-so very local, but excellent, which is a quality we’re hoping to see far more of in a city famed for its world-class representation by talented foreigners.
You won’t find literal banana bits floating in the drink, and if you’re of such persuasion, you won’t find them in human form at this bar either. Just good old boys serving up terrific drinks in a wholly unpretentious setting. But hold the Mariah Carey please.
Monkey See, Monkey Do is priced at SGD22++ and available from FRESH! at #02-01, 101 Jalan Sultan.
