Sugar, spice and everything nice—these are the ingredients that make up the refreshing cocktail that awaits you at the end of a sweltering walk through Robertson Quay, in the cool, welcoming embrace of the bar at Bochinche.

Well, not just that, to be precise. Chambord liqueur, a honeyed raspberry nectar from France, ups the alcoholic ante a smidgen when added to a spiced vodka made of a propriety blend by this Argentinian restaurant.

Ginger beer gives it a fizzy kick, while cranberry juice makes sure the drink doesn’t sink into a sickly-sweet mess. The result? A light but nicely buzzing tipple to start you off as you wait for the glorious food to be brought to you.

Don’t think of it as a girly drink, despite the colour and the name. Drinks don’t have genitals, buddy. Think of it as a nice starter to an evening marked by food loaded with manna (and cheese) and lots more sundowners from their generous happy hour menu.

The Spicy Lolita is priced at SGD10++ during happy hour every day and available from Bochinche, #02-01, 22 Martin Road.
