The Existence Of 'Beer Goggles' Has Just Been Scientifically Proven

Since the dawn of time, people have relied on alcohol to give them sexual confidence, and a study in Switzerland has just proved it works. Sixty healthy volunteers aged between18 to 50 were given half a litre of alcoholic beer, while the other participants were given non-alcoholic beer.
They were then asked to perform a range of tasks including a face recognition test, an empathy test and a sexual arousal test. Researchers found that drinking beer made it easier for volunteers to view explicit sexual images meaning the alcohol had removed sexual inhibitions.
Unsurprisingly, the effect was greater for women than for men, but more interestingly no change was seen in actual sexual arousal itself. Beer also improved positive behaviour in participants—those that had alcohol were more attracted to happy faces and social situations.
So the idea of "beer goggles" isn't a myth after all. The study validates the idea that alcohol can make less attractive people seem desirable.
The Lead researcher of the study Professor Matthias Liechti explained:
"We found that drinking a glass of beer helps people see happy faces faster, and enhances concern for positive emotional situations.Alcohol also facilitates the viewing of sexual images, consistent with disinhibition, but it does not actually enhance sexual arousal."
There's never been a better reason to have a pint.
